Greetings of the day!
I am writing to request urgent assistance with my visa application. My name is Mousumi Nishat Shimul; I'm a service holder and a Trade Union activist. I'm a Bangladeshi national and require an urgent visa to the Republic of the Philippines. I have been invited to participate in the ENGAGE-ASIA Training Programme. This is an international training course jointly developed by the Global Labour University (GLU) and the School of Labour and Industrial Relations of the University of the Philippines (UP SOLAIR). This programme aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of trade union leaders and activists across Asia. Participating in this training is a crucial opportunity for me to further my understanding of labour rights and to contribute effectively to the trade union movement in Bangladesh. It will be held at the School of Labour and Industrial Relations, University of the Philippines Diliman (UP-SOLAIR), from June 23 to July 18, 2025.
I could not apply for a visa in time due to a shortage of some required papers. Later, on 25th May 2025, I submitted my visa to a travel agency (Pinoy Travels). The agency assured me that they would expedite the process, and I remained hopeful that all would be for me to attend the programme. This opportunity is crucial for my professional development and for advocating for labour rights in my home country. I understand that the programme may provide me with invaluable insights and connections that could significantly enhance my efforts in promoting fair labour practices. But, on the evening of 3rd June 2025, the travel agency informed me that they were unable to submit my visa application because the embassy's online services were down. I immediately tried to communicate with the embassy and talked to the emergency number over the phone. I emailed the embassy for an urgent appointment on the 4th of June with all required documents and submitted my visa application and scan of my passport copy through the link provided by the Philippines embassy in Dhaka on the 5th of June.
I am scheduled to arrive in Manila on June 22, 2025, via Thai Airways and will stay at the UP International Centre located on the UP Diliman campus. During my stay, I will fully engage in the training programme sessions organised by UP-SOLAIR. My return flight to Dhaka is booked for July 19, 2025.

I am applying for a 'business visa'. I have attached scanned copies of all supporting documents to this email as proof of the urgency.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could expedite the processing of my application. Please let me know what steps I need to take and if there are any additional documents required from a Bangladeshi applicant.
